Nasdaq-100 ARIMA–GARCH Time-Series Model
In-Class Project | September — December 2025
Built and evaluated an ARIMA–GARCH model to analyze daily Nasdaq-100 log returns (2003–2019),
focusing on short-run return dynamics and volatility clustering during calm and turbulent market periods.
-
Pulled and preprocessed historical Nasdaq-100 data, transformed prices to log returns, and validated stationarity
using ADF, PP, DF-GLS, and KPSS unit root tests
-
Selected the ARMA mean specification using AIC/BIC and ACF/PACF diagnostics to capture short-run dependence in returns
-
Detected ARCH effects with Engle LM and Ljung–Box tests on squared residuals, motivating conditional variance modeling
-
Estimated and compared ARCH/GARCH specifications, validated model adequacy using squared standardized residual diagnostics,
and visualized conditional volatility over time

Panel Analysis of Relation Between Income Inequality and Internet Access
In-Class Project | March — May 2025
-
Applied advanced econometric techniques including fixed effects modeling, Hausman testing, and joint F-tests
to evaluate the relationship between internet access and income inequality across countries using unbalanced
panel data
-
Cleaned, structured, and analyzed large-scale cross-national datasets from World Bank Database using Stata,
demonstrating proficiency in data wrangling, variable transformation, and statistical interpretation
-
Identified a statistically significant but modest relationship between internet access and income inequality
using fixed effects regression, showing that a 1% increase in internet penetration is associated with a
0.048-point decrease in the Gini index
Student Spender
In-Class Project | October — December 2024
-
Co-developed a full-stack budgeting web app for study abroad students using Flask, JavaScript, and SQLite,
with features including user authentication, expense tracking, and personalized budget planning via OpenAI API
integration
-
Led backend and database development, optimizing data models and queries, managing user sessions, and resolving
performance issues through exception handling and debugging
